Nutritional Equity Working Group
The Nutritional Equity Working Group’s mission is to promote nutritional equity and food justice across Long Island. Nutrition is a key determinant of health, and the complexity surrounding food access and nutritional security has reached a fever pitch. The COVID-19 Pandemic has exacerbated the negative outcomes of nutritional and social inequity on Long Island.
The coalition comprises partners across the human services sector in Long Island. Stakeholders from food banks, SNAP/WIC offices, and traditional human services agencies come together to coordinate around the issues affecting Long Islanders and New Yorkers.
The group has worked extensively on coordinated outreach around nutritional benefits access, and also serves as an advocacy group to ensure that we are partnering successfully as a region with our government partners.
Join us in creating a future for Long Island in which everyone has an equal opportunity to prosper and thrive.
